Study on media consumption: Official vs. Unofficial

Thank you for participating in this study! This study explores how people consume visual media on the internet. As well as helping us understand why people prefer one way over the other.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and will be used solely for research purposes.

Please answer all questions as truthfully as possible and regarding your current consumption behaviour.

How it works:

  • You will first be asked a couple of demographic and internet usage questions.
  • You will then be asked what media you watch online.
  • Then you will be asked a few questions about how you watch the media that you mentioned. These questions will be split based on category.

Clarification:

We use the term "Official" for services that own the right to stream a certain catalogue of visual media.

The term "Unofficial" describes services and methods that do not own the right to stream or distribute visual media to others.

This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
